We chose Mariano Moreno
because of his values, he was worried about people and he fought for social
equality.
Mariano Moreno was born on
September 23th 1778, in Buenos Aires. He was Manuel Moreno’s and Argumosa’s
son.
He had thirteen brothers. He studied at Colegio San Carlos and he
graduated with honors. Then he went to the University of Chuquisaca where he
got his liberal ideas defending the free commerce and the Indian rights.
He was a lawyer, a journalist and a politician
of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata. He was one of the main
idealists and impellers of the May’s Revolution and he had an important role as
one of the two secretaries of Primera Junta.
He died on March 4th
1811, on board of the English ship “Fame”, he was poisoned and his body was
thrown to the sea.
